Hi! My name is Sara Cheris, and I am a freshman at Adelphi University. I am an Environmental Studies major in the Scholar Teacher Education Program, which is a 5 year BA/MS program, and Levermore Global Scholars program.

Fun Fact! My favorite television show is the original Star Trek series.

S406: Stars, Galaxies, and Cosmology: An Introduction to Astronomy in Splash Fall 2016 (Nov. 05, 2016)
This class will provide an overview of interesting topics in astronomy. We will be focusing more on concepts rather than rigorous mathematical descriptions of astronomical phenomenon. Topics to be discussed include stellar evolution, galaxies types, cosmological principles, basic special and general relativity, black holes, current events, and anything that you find interesting!
