1. What?

Columbia University Educational Outreach is a program that allows any high school student to take classes taught by undergraduates, graduate students, and community members from Columbia. Classes cover a wide variety of subjects, from the fine arts to higher mathematics.

As teachers, it will be YOUR job to teach those classes! Pick something you're truly passionate about and explore it with your students.

Teachers will not only be lecturing on their class subjects, but will also be available for questions about general college life and more. This is more than just an academic experience-- you will be helping your students pave the way for their futures.

2. Who?

You, of course! And a bunch of other college students, post-grads, and industry professionals alongside high schoolers.

The teachers: ALL have either attended or are attending undergraduate school. ALL have a passion for the subject they're teaching. ALL are completely approachable and willing to answer any and all questions. Sound like you?

The students: All eighth graders and high school students are invited to join us at this spectacular event. If they are in grades eight, nine, ten, eleven, or twelve-- they're as good as in!

2. When?

Columbia Splash Spring 2023 will be in April 2023. More information for Splash will be sent out soon! Class slots are 50 minutes long (although you can opt to teach a class that spans multiple slots) and run from 10AM to 1PM and 2PM to 6PM. You can teach as many or as few class sections as you'd like!

4. Where?

Fall 2021 Events will be held over zoom!

5. Why?

Because it's fun. For both teachers and students. It's truly an amazing experience to inspire students who were just like you a few years ago. It's a great way to brush up on your favorite subjects, it looks fantastic on resumes, and it's a nice way to take a break from the endless studying that accompanies college life.
